Know before you fly!
The proper operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, is critical to the safety of commercial and general aviation at Key West International Airport.
Individuals wanting to operate drones on the island of Key West or within five miles of the Key West International Airport shall:
- Register their aircraft with the FAA as a Part 107 operator
- Apply for a FAA Certificate of Authorization (COA) via the FAA Drone Zone or UAS Data Exchange (LAANC)
- Adhere to all pertinent rules, regulations, and recommendations of the FAA for Part 107 Operators
- Adhere to all other City and County ordinances regarding the use of UAS
