Expedia reports domestic travel is dominating summer vacation planning, while the Transportation Security Administration says it could be the busiest summer travel season on record.

Travelers looking to save are booking the Aug. 17 to Sept. 6 window, during which domestic flights drop by roughly 9 percent, according to Kayak.
