Key West International Airport’s airlines increased seat capacity late last year, and more passengers are paying for those seats – 87,249 more passengers so far this year to be exact.

The most recent passenger tally shows an increase of 10.4 percent year to date compared to 2023, bringing the passenger count to 925,729 passengers so far this year. Five out of EYW’s six commercial airlines saw significant increases year over year as of July with United Airlines seeing a staggering 45.8 percent increase in passengers year to date.

“We had predicted a robust 2024, and so far it has proven itself to be just that. We continue to aim high and draw passengers to the Florida Keys,” said Richard Strickland, Executive Director of Airports.

“Key West International Airport is an economic engine and it continues to excel as evidenced by these numbers,” said Mayor Holly Raschein.

The month of July alone saw an 8.5 percent increase compared to last year at 106,027 passengers for the month.
